Ring Bolts / The Ranges
Ring Bolts on Anglesey is on the west facing coast of Holy Island, it is a long rocky stretch facing out towards South Stack. Incidently it is the same fishing mark that is known as the ranges.
Following the coast road from Treaddurr Bay heading toward South Stack will get you to the mark, it is quicker to drive to Holyhead and around the mountain. Its around a 30 minute drive from the Britannia Bridge crossing. Use the map below to help.
The mark is most often fished on the bottom, moreover anglers after lighter sport will find there is an abundance of Wrasse. It really is a perfect habitat for them among the rocks and Kelp, there are also plenty of mini species around. Pollack are also around this mark and are generally up to the 2lb bracket. Ring bolts has great views towards South Stack when the sun is shining, it is a stunning place to fish. Its best to keep your eyes on any South West swells to be on the safe side, always assess the water for a few minutes before fishing.
You can use a parking spot close to the one for Mackerel Rock and head across the patchwork of trails to your chosen spot.
