Trefor

Trefor is a high water sea fishing mark on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula.

Once famed for it’s small pier that was used by Anglers for years moreover it used to be a mark that helped anglers target Bull Huss (and Mackerel), with the pier giving access to deeper water. The pier fell into a dangerous state of repair hence it was unfortunately removed in 2018.
If there were Huss around back then, they must still be around. Just requires a bit further casting. Its upkeep was finished as it was once used to export granite from local quarries which sadly came to an end.

With the pier now gone the small breakwater is still fully accessible, it is fishing onto a clean sandy bottom. This helps reduce tackle loses especially if you avoid the old pier struts. Parking is only a short walk away with plenty of spaces and is visible from the venue. This makes it accessible for most anglers with all the usual local species available.
Fishing is from a safe and stable platform with a railing on the sea facing side of the breakwater, great if you dont fancy carrying the tripod. Casting straight out parallel to the breakwater is a good as casting diagonally from the end of the breakwater.

There are opportunities to have a bit of a species hunt down the back of the breakwater among the rocks. To the left looking out to sea there is a little headland that you can also target minis, its quite shallow here and snaggy. It does invovle a short walk from the car park.
