Penisarlon Farm Camping

Penisarlon farm camping and caravan site is lovely campsite in Pistyll. Surrounded by absolutely stunning views and particularly of the evening sunset. Pods of Dolphins can be seen passing in the bay below at times. It is also a great dark sky area with unbelievable views of the night skies.

It can get busy during bank holidays so I would always advise booking a pitch before hand. Don’t get me wrong on the busy bit, the site owners won’t cram people in and that is precisely why I advise booking in advance. It is ideally located close to the town of Nefyn and a short drive to Pwllheli. Both of which have shops, the latter has everything you may need while on holiday.

Now before I tell you more about the site I would like to tell you why I chose this particular place to stay – location, its really good. Not too far down the Llyn Peninsla but close to everything in the area. Whether it be to Caernarfron or Pwllheli, Aberdaron or Whistling Sands (Porthor), they are only a short car trip away. Snowdonia and Anglesey are literally on the doorstep, or more precisely for me lots of places to go sea fishing. The site overlooks the old Pistyll Dock, a well known local fishing mark.

The site is well maintained with a small park for younger kids on the bottom field. There is also a small park across the road behind the row of houses. The bottom field has a communal fire pit and there are a few Chimnea style devices dotted around for you to use. The owners sell wood to burn for £3 a bag which is enough for a night.

There are several toilets and showers on the top end of the field, with a new recently added toilet/shower block which is nice and far superior to the others. There is no additional cost to use the showers as its all included in the camping price. £15 a night for tents and £20 for caravans.

Its a great place for kids too as the site has 2 resident donkeys and a pony, chickens, ducks and geese. They are a friendly enough bunch, the donkeys like a bit of grass as you walk by. Eggs can be purchased directly from the site for a small cost. Great views of the sea from all pitches, we have seen dolphins going past a few times now. The owners (Jackie and Dave) are friendly and more than welcoming. Only niggle is in places the road down is a little steep but nothing to worry about. Dave will help to move caravans around site if needed.

I have also added Penisarlon Farm camping under fishing venue as you can access Pystill Dock from the campsite. It’s a great spot for a wide variety of fish including Mackerel and Tope in summer.

Penisarlon farm has recently had a few changes meaning tents can be more spaced out which is great. Moreover there has been a small addition to the farm in the form of goats. Another great reason to stay at Penisarlon Farm camping and caravan site, the open fields are great for the kids to play ball games.

There is also a cottage and house available onsite to rent, both are really nice and modern set ups too with plenty of room. https://www.penisarlonfarm.co.uk/
