Moel y Don

Moel y Don is a sea fishing venue on the Anglesey side of the Menai. The mark is situated roughly in the middle of the Menai, around 10 minutes drive from the Britannia Bridge. There is signpost off the main road too, it’s the same road that Plas Coch holiday park is on.

The ground at this venue is a bit of a mix but nothing too rough, sand, silt and shingle. It is part of the very tidal Menai Straight so you will heavier grippers to hold bottom. Minimum of a 6 ounce gripper is required.

At the rear of Moel y Don if fishing from the boat ramp the parking is directly behind. There is room for up to 6 cars and you can almost fish out of the boot. A little further down the Menai is another boat ramp, its newer and has less slippy week on it. It just makes it easier to fish from at low tide.

Personally I would walk further south around the bend. Fishing here is far less tackle hungry as a lot clearer bottom for both high and low tide.

Enough room for 6 cars directly behind the fishing mark
