Pwllheli Harbour

Pwllheli Harbour / Marina is a good fishing venue on the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula.

The mouth and channel of the marina are best for Flounder and Bass. The inner harbour itself is good for numbers of Mullet. Bream are also available in the main harbour channel. That said the reports of this happening have somewhat reduced in recent times. That could simply be down to people not wanting to put any extra heat on the venue. Best kept secrets and all that.

Both side of Pwllheli Harbour can be fished from, you can drive into Gimblet rock holiday park. The channel itself can have a strong tidal flow if fishing the deeper middle section. It’s a fairly clean bottom in the centre, the sides however are boulder strewn and weedy. It can be very shaggy on the retrieve, more so at low tide.

Baits to use when fishing Pwllheli Harbour are your standard go to baits. That is unless you are targeting the Mullet on top of the water.
