Launching a boat on Ullswater

Launching a boat on Ullswater is an easy process. I see lots of people asking about insurance and launching fee’s etc.

Currently there is no requirement to have insurance for your boat if using it on Ullswater. This is unlike Coniston and Windermere where is is checked before launching is allowed. I would always recommend insurance just incase, its quick to setup online and relatively inexpensive.

Ok next up the second most asked question and that is launching fees. There are currently no official launching fees for Ullswater. The costs involved when launching are purely down to two aspects:

Parking fees, such as pay and display car parks around the lake.

Costs for access to launch from private property such as the campsites. Park Foot is one example. The price for parking and access to the lake is just £5 per day which is cheaper than the pay and display car parks. The parking is right next to the lake access too.

So other than that you are good to go. Thats a simple guide Ullswater boat launching. There are many places around the lake you can get your boat in just fine.

Check out our online shop at www.halenfishing.co.uk Terminal tackle of all types and sizes, if you can’t see it just ask and we will try and stock it. Check out the the home page on here for any promo codes.

This is a fab place to launch a boat if, no disrespect you know what you are doing and aware of the hazards some people can create not knowing what they are with people swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking in the close vicinity. We have seen idiots turn up already drunk and still drinking with a craft literally hanging together totally unaware of the carnage they are creating threatening harm to other users. I say this so as to make sure you are aware of such idiots that can spoil things for other people.

You can pay over the phone by card or call in at the clubhouse with cash.
